One local crew for every striping job
Paint is the cheapest part of a parking lot and the first thing people notice. Faded stalls, a missing van space, a fire lane the marshal cannot read, all of it makes a property look tired and can put an owner on the wrong side of an inspection. TXST Paving Company handles line marking across Georgetown, from retail centers on Williams Drive to church lots in Serenada and HOA amenity parking in Sun City and Teravista.
This page covers the three marking services we run most often: full parking lot striping, ADA and Texas Accessibility Standards handicap space marking, and fire lane striping to the local fire marshal's spec. If you already know what you need, jump to the service page. If you are not sure, keep reading and call us at (737) 403-8619 for a free written estimate.

Line Marking in Georgetown, explained
What Line Marking Covers on a Georgetown Lot
Line marking is everything painted on pavement and curbs that tells drivers where to go, where to stop and where they cannot park. On a typical commercial lot in Georgetown that means:
We lay out new lots from a site plan and we restripe existing lots over the old pattern, or over a fresh sealcoat after it cures. Striping is also the last step on most of our parking lot paving and commercial lot sealcoating jobs, so one crew can handle the whole lot from base to paint.
02Our Line Marking Services
Parking Lot Striping
New layouts and restripes for retail, office, medical, church, school and multifamily lots. We size stalls for the way the lot is actually used, pick waterborne traffic paint or thermoplastic based on traffic and budget, and paint arrows, stop bars and curbs in the same visit. Read more on our parking lot striping page.
Handicap Space Marking
Accessible spaces laid out to the 2010 ADA Standards and the Texas Accessibility Standards: the right count for the lot size, van accessible spaces with 96 inch aisles, the symbol on a blue field, signs at the proper height and slopes checked before paint goes down. Details on our handicap space marking page.
Fire Lane Striping
Red curb and white lettering that meets what the Georgetown Fire Marshal and Williamson County inspectors expect, with tow away signage where the owner wants enforcement. Covered in full on our fire lane striping page.
03Why Paint Fades So Fast in Central Texas
Line paint in Georgetown lives a hard life. Summer pavement temperatures pass 140 degrees, UV burns the resin out of the paint film, and the same sun oxidizes the asphalt underneath so the black fades to grey and the contrast drops even when the paint is still there. Add tire scrub at every entrance, sand and grit washed in by spring storms, and the occasional hard freeze, and a lot striped with a single coat of paint can look washed out in a year.
That is why we talk about sealcoating and striping together. A sealcoat gives you a dark, even surface so white and yellow lines pop, and it protects the asphalt from the same UV that kills the paint. We also choose materials by location on the lot: durable thermoplastic at entrances, crosswalks and stop bars where tires turn, standard traffic paint for stall lines that see less scrub.
East of I-35, on the Blackland Prairie clay around Westinghouse Road and out toward Hutto and Taylor, the pavement itself moves. Cracks that open with the clay break the paint line with them, so we usually do crack filling before we stripe. Paint over an open crack is money thrown at a problem that will be back next spring.
How to Choose the Right Marking Job
Owners usually come to us with one of four situations. Here is how we sort them out.
| Situation | What we recommend | Typical timing |
|---|---|---|
| New asphalt or fresh sealcoat, no lines yet | Full layout from plan, ADA spaces and fire lanes included | After the surface cures, about 30 days for new asphalt, 24 to 48 hours for sealcoat |
| Lines faded but layout works | Restripe over the existing pattern, refresh curbs, stencils and signs | Every 1 to 2 years for paint, 3 to 5 for thermoplastic |
| Failed inspection or ADA complaint | Targeted ADA and fire lane corrections with slope check and signage | As soon as possible, usually one visit |
| Lot use changed, new tenant or more traffic | Re-layout, blackout of old lines where needed, new counts and arrows | Plan around tenant move-in |
One rule of thumb: if you can still see the old lines clearly enough to follow them and the layout has no compliance problems, a restripe is the right call. If the lines are gone, the count of accessible spaces is wrong, or you are converting from angled to 90 degree stalls, we lay it out fresh.
How a Line Marking Job Goes
06Who We Mark Lots For Around Georgetown
Most of our striping calls come from property managers and owners of strip retail on Williams Drive and University Avenue, medical offices in Georgetown and Round Rock, churches, private schools, self storage and RV storage yards off SH 130, and HOA amenity centers in Wolf Ranch, Rancho Sienna and Santa Rita Ranch. We also stripe for apartment communities in Round Rock and Cedar Park, industrial yards in Hutto, and small town business districts out to Taylor, Jarrell and Liberty Hill.
Line marking pairs naturally with our other lot work. If your lot has potholes or alligator cracking, get that repaired before you spend money on paint. If you need a ramp poured or a curb cut so the accessible route actually works, our concrete crew handles handicap ramp installation. Speed bumps and wheel stops can be set and striped in the same visit.

Line Marking questions, answered
How long after sealcoating can you stripe the lot?
In Georgetown summer heat a sealcoat is usually ready for paint in 24 to 48 hours. In cooler or humid weather we give it longer, because paint laid on a sealcoat that has not fully cured can lift or bleed. When we do both jobs, we schedule the striping crew to come back on the right day so you are not waiting on a second contractor.
Do you use paint or thermoplastic?
Both, and often on the same lot. Waterborne traffic paint is the standard for stall lines and restripes because it is economical and easy to refresh. Thermoplastic costs more but lasts several times longer, so we recommend it for entrances, stop bars, crosswalks and arrows where tires scrub the marking every day. We will lay out the options on your estimate.
Will my lot have to close while you stripe it?
Rarely all at once. We split most lots into halves or thirds and cone off one section at a time, so tenants and customers keep parking. Paint dries to the touch within minutes in warm weather. For very small lots or drive-thru lanes we coordinate a short window with the manager, often early in the morning before the business gets busy.
How many handicap spaces does my lot need?
It goes by total stall count. One accessible space for 1 to 25 stalls, two for 26 to 50, three for 51 to 75, four for 76 to 100, and so on. One of every six accessible spaces must be van accessible, so a lot with a single accessible space needs it to be a van space. Medical facilities have higher ratios. We count the lot during the site walk.
Who sets the fire lane requirements in Georgetown?
Inside the city, the Georgetown Fire Department's fire marshal enforces the fire code and reviews fire lane marking at inspection. Outside the city limits it is the Williamson County fire marshal and the local emergency services district. The common standard is a red curb with white FIRE LANE NO PARKING lettering repeated along the lane. We confirm the spec before painting a new lane.

Not sure which of these you need?
That is what the free site visit is for. We look at the pavement and tell you what it actually needs.
